About Me
Teaching has always been my passion. I knew I wanted to become a teacher since the very first time I set foot in a classroom. My earliest memory of wanting to become a teacher is when I was about 5 years old. My teacher knew so much about so many different things. She shared all her knowledge with us. I wanted to do that. So I went on and received a Bachelor of Science in Education with an emphasis in Special Education from Angelo State University. After graduation, I was hired at Waco ISD, where I taught Kindergarten and first grade. While working there I took a four-month course on cake decorating and received a certificate in real estate. When I left Waco I taught at two private pre-schools in the Dallas-Fort-Worth Motorplex. Then I returned to my hometown of Midland, Texas. There I was a Youth Minister for my church and taught at Texas Leadership Charter Academy. At Texas Leadership Charter Academy I taught first and second grade. That brings us to the present, where I am currently the English Language Learner teacher at Lanai High and Elementary School in Lanai City, Hawaii. I began working at Lanai High and Elementary School in July 2016. When I started here I was hired as a 3rd-grade teacher. The following school year I was a kindergarten teacher. This year I am the English Language Learner teacher for the secondary. I have really enjoyed this new position. The best gratification of the job is watching students understand a new concept. No matter where life has taken me I have always found a way to share my knowledge. Whether it's in a traditional classroom or a religious setting. Teaching is more than a job it's my passion. I want to share my passion for learning with as many people as I can. I believe that we can all learn new things. Whether it’s a new skill for a job or a new hobby. We all have the capability of learning something new.
