My whole life I have been and outdoors man. From fishing to riding ATVs and hiking to camping, I was able to enjoy it all. As a toddler I dealt with 2 open heart surgeries, but after those I thought I would get to live a full life. Then at the age of 46 I was suddenly halted by serious heart issues. I had to have a pacemaker put in, but the doctor decided that it would be a band-aid on the issue. I needed a heart transplant. It took 6 years of hard work proving to my medical team I was not just a good candidate for the transplant but would be successful in my recovery as well. Now that I am on the list, I am required to have the funds to stay near the hospital for 3-6 months, cover my medical bills, food, medications, and specialized therapies. Even donating a few dollars would mean the world to me and my family!
