About Me

Hi, I’m Gabriella Gorbea, a psychology student at the University of Florida, concentrating on behavioral and cognitive neuroscience on a pre-med track. I’m passionate about pediatric neuroscience and aspire to work in the field of rehabilitation, helping children and individuals recover and thrive after neurological challenges. I’m especially interested in innovative solutions for early detection of neurological diseases and creating accessible, effective care for diverse populations. Research is a big part of who I am. I love exploring the connections between behavior, health, and neuroscience. My recent projects include studying paired-associate learning theories and analyzing gender representation in cinema. Beyond academics, I find great purpose in giving back. I’ve volunteered extensively with my church to serve underserved communities, and as a proud Hispanic woman, I’m dedicated to building bridges between cultures. The opportunity to travel to Mysore, India, aligns perfectly with my goals and values. It’s a chance to connect my passion for global health with hands-on research experience, focusing on innovative ways to improve lives. I’m excited about the impact this journey could have, not only on the communities I’ll serve but also on my growth as a future healthcare professional.
