I'm 13 years old and I am trying to raise money for a school trip to Zanzibar in Africa. This is not a holiday but an opportunity to be a volunteer in an area that is deprived of many basic resources, including schools. As a volunteer I will be helping to build classrooms, help assist teach classes with up to 150 students, I will help provide clothing and will be preparing meals for some of the poorest children living. I am a privileged child compared to a child of Zanzibar. I have a roof over my head, food in my belly and a free education. Many of the children in Zanzibar do not have this. I care about social change and I would like to help make a difference to the world we live in. I'm a caring person and I don't like the thought of people suffering when there is no need for them to suffer. I have a paper round and I intend to use most of this money to help fund my trip to Africa, I will however be taking part in various sponsored events as my paper round money will not fund the whole trip. I will also use birthday and Christmas present money to go towards the costs.
