About Me
My name is Jasmin Ortiz I’m from Queens, NY and I’m a Cinema and Screen Studies major and minoring in Graphic Design. This is my fourth-year studying at SUNY Oswego and I’m currently learning Portuguese. I’ve been studying Portuguese for over a year and will be continuing to study the language. I originally started learning Portuguese as a language requirement by my university, but throughout the course, I’ve grown interested in the language and excelled in the class. Learning a third language has really broadened my proficiency and understanding of the languages I already know. In July 5th 2019 I went to São Paulo, Brazil and studied at PUC-SP for 6 months. I studied Communications and Multimedia, and studied Portuguese. During my time abroad I excelled in all of my classes even though my Portuguese wasn't as strong, I did the best I have ever done in my college career. I feel more confident than ever with my creative choices PUC-SP gave me the confidence I needed to grow. During the little time I spent in Brazil I truly fell in love with the country and would love to move to Brazil. I truly felt at home while I was there.
