About Me
Hello! My name is Jenny Tran, a Vietnamese-American passionate about pursuing a career in medicine. I am currently with four nonprofit programs, College Success Foundation (CSF) AmeriCorps, No One Dies Alone, Pre-Operation/Post-Operation (Pre-OP/PACU) Surgeries, and Ronald McDonald House Charities, where I provide support to patients, families, and students. I am passionate about community service and working to serve the underserved. Though I graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s Degree in both Biochemistry and Chemistry, and a minor in Chinese, I wanted to take some time to explore and gain more experience before pursuing my career in medicine. Through my involvement with CSF AmeriCorps as a College and Career Coach providing an ongoing college culture at my school site and supporting the students holistically, I discovered my passion for serving the underserved community in my future career. Volunteering in the No One Dies Alone Program ignited my passion in being in Healthcare. The rewarding part of the program is being able to provide comfort and companionship in the form of presence, giving individuals friendship when they would be otherwise alone during a pivotal part of a family's life. I consider this aspect the most rewarding given that I also allow peace of mind for their relatives. Furthermore, my work in the Pre-OP and PACU departments has provided me with valuable insight into the diverse range of roles and responsibilities that healthcare professionals carry out. I am motivated and inspired by the work I do in supporting people in medical settings. One of my core values is a positive work environment, where I find support from the people I work with. I have developed strong empathy, communication, and negotiation skills to create this environment. I value teamwork, and I'm always willing to lend a helping hand to support others. Volunteering/Serving with multiple programs has helped me identify the working environment I thrive in and has led me to discover my passion for a career in the medical field. I'm excited to use my skills and experience to contribute positively to this industry and support the underserved.
