Ale is a third-generation Argentine and I am American -- born and raised in Virginia. Ale and I met online -- she was a fan of my work as a photojournalist -- and we began talking. Occasional emails turned into daily emails which morphed into occasional phone calls which evolved into daily phone calls. In October I covered the Cherokee Native Cultural Circle in Tennessee and Ale came to America, from Buenos Aires, to join me on her vacation. I borrowed my clients' car, went to the Nashville airport to meet her and pick her up. A week later, we were married during the PowWow. My mother still lives in Virginia and I have a daughter living in Georgia. This trip will permit us to see both of them again as well as cover the ongoing story of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee.
