About Me
Hi, I’m Jini Park, a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in painting, screen printing, and mixed media. As a first-generation Korean immigrant, my work is deeply rooted in exploring the complexities of cultural inheritance, identity, and the fluid, ever-evolving nature of human existence. I’m drawn to the space in between—between tradition and modernity, personal memory and collective history—and I use layered imagery and materials to express what often can’t be captured in words. My practice is a response to the ongoing negotiation between cultural displacement and self-definition. While my ancestry is an undeniable foundation, I’m equally committed to exploring identity as something boundless and transformative. I often merge traditional Korean techniques with contemporary Western methodologies, reimagining identity not as a fixed state, but as a living, breathing space of possibility. Over the past four years, I’ve faced serious health challenges, culminating in a near-fatal surgery just four months ago. That experience cracked me wide open. It clarified how urgent and sacred my creative path truly is. I emerged from it with a deeper hunger to live fully—and to pursue my art with everything I have. This year, I’ve been accepted into several artist residencies, including international programs that will allow me to expand my work, connect with global artists, and continue building a visual language that speaks to healing, multiplicity, and human freedom. I’m currently raising funds to help cover travel, materials, and residency fees. Your support will help me turn this new chapter into a bold, creative leap forward—and I would be so honored to have you as part of that journey. With gratitude, Jini Park
