About Me

Growing up in Nigeria, I have always been surrounded by the rich history and bustling life of cities where dreams are born and challenged every day. But amid the beauty of this land, I witnessed an uncomfortable truth — for many physically challenged people, everyday life was a constant struggle, hidden behind the grand facades and cobbled streets. My heart’s true calling emerged one cold, drizzly afternoon in London. I was on my way to meet a friend near Union Homes Mall when I saw a man struggling to cross the busy street. His name was James. Confined to a wheelchair, James faced more than just the physical challenge of navigating the uneven pavement and heavy traffic — he also battled the indifference of a city that wasn’t built with him in mind. That day, as the rain soaked through my coat and James waited helplessly for the traffic lights to change, a car honked loudly and sped past, inches away from his wheelchair. I rushed to help him, feeling the weight of his vulnerability and frustration. He told me how simple things, like catching a bus or entering a café, had become daily battles. The ramps were few, the assistance scarce, and the stares often cruel. James’s story was heartbreaking, but it was also a call to action for me. I realised that so many people in my own country, right here in England, were living isolated and limited lives because the world had failed to accommodate them. Since that day, I have dedicated myself to helping the physically challenged across Nigeria. Whether it’s advocating for better accessibility in historic buildings, volunteering with local charities in places like Benue, or simply offering a helping hand on a rainy Abuja street, my mission has been clear: to break down barriers and build a society where everyone can thrive. This journey has been fueled by countless stories like James’s — stories of resilience shadowed by unnecessary obstacles. My heart beats for those whose voices often go unheard, and I will continue to fight so that no one in Nigeria or beyond has to face their challenges alone. This is not just my story. It is the story of a compassion that knows no borders, a commitment to justice, and a belief that kindness can reshape the world.
