I am a single mom/ grandmother raising her 8-year-old granddaughter. I am a paraprofessional at an elementary school where my granddaughter goes to school. My granddaughter has asthma and allergies and has to be seen at the Children’s Mercy Hospital every 6 months. We have to travel a little over 5 hours to her appointments and usually have to stay at a hotel for a least one night sometimes two nights depends on if she has to see more than one doctor or has testing done like we have to this go around. She is my pride and joy; I have custody of her since she was 3 1/2 months old. I am raising her on my own since my husband was cheating on me, so I left him. My first husband was killed in an auto accident 3 weeks after we had gotten married. I have had to do stuff a lot on my own, and asking for help is so difficult for me. I have tried to reschedule her appointment for later when I am back to work but they said it would be in January before they could get her rescheduled. She was just hospitalized a couple months ago for her asthma and her oxygen levels being really low. Now she keeps breaking out not sure if she is allergic to something new. They will be doing the prick testing on her when we go this time. If possible and if we can get a little help, I really would like to get to this appointment next month. If anyone could help out a little, I would be so appreciative. Thank you and God Bless
