I am writing this request because I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 2 months after my mom died of Metastatic Breast Cancer. Treatment has been grueling but I am continuing to survive. I’ve had double mastectomies and reconstruction. Complications after the surgery included infection of Cellulitis and my wounds opened. My new breast tissue and the donor site which is my stomach opened. I was placed on dressing changes and eventually a wound vac . It has been a struggle to recover physically, mentally and financially. Having 3 teenage children during chronic illness is a challenge. Many sacrifices were made. We were unable to take a family vacation. My hopes is to take a cruise with my family to spend quality time. My husband and children have been instrumental in my healing and they will really enjoy themselves. I want to spend time on the beach and enjoy the tranquility of the Islands.
