About Me

My name is Laura Puttock. I am an A - level, sixth form student, living in North London. I am currently studying Geography, English Literature and Philosophy and Ethics. I hope to continue my education at university, with an ambition to study Criminal Law. Even from a very young age, I have always been very passionate about helping out around my local community as well as helping to support charities. Over the years, I have volunteered, organised and have participated in events and have raised money for multiple charities such as the RSPCA, Cancer Research, North London Hospice, Sweetree Farming (a farm which allows people with a mental health problem to get together to help look after animals and grow their own food), Children in Need and Sports Relief - just to name a few. However, as much as I love helping around my local community, I want to venture further afield to those who don't get as much help. This is why I have decided to travel to Ghana to volunteer in a school and support the children there whom live in poverty. I feel this is of significant importance to not only the children I will be supporting but also to myself. At times I forget how privileged I am; I have regular meals and access to clean drinking water, as well as free education. And at times I forget how fortunate I am.
