I’m 24 years old, and right now I work from home as a writing tutor, helping students with their lessons. I live at home with my three sisters, and together we help take care of our mom, who is 56 years old and disabled. A lot of our days are spent juggling work, caregiving, and household responsibilities. Life hasn’t been easy for us these past few years. When we lost our dad, everything changed. Financially and emotionally, things became unstable, and honestly, we never really got the chance to slow down and properly grieve. We’ve just been doing our best to keep going and hold everything together. One thing that’s always on our hearts is family. My mom misses her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren so much. My sisters and I miss our brother, niece, and nephew too. The kids especially miss their grandma, you can see it every time we video call. Seeing them again would mean the world to her. They bring her so much happiness and give her something to smile about even on hard days. I’ve never traveled before, and neither has anyone in my family internationally. This trip wouldn’t just be about going somewhere new it would be about healing, reconnecting, and experiencing something positive together. I’d love to explore opportunities like teaching English or sharing American cooking, while also learning about Indonesian culture and finally meeting my brother’s wife’s family in person for the first time. More than anything, I just want this to be a moment of hope and renewal for my family. After carrying so much stress for so long, I believe we’re ready for a fresh chapter
