About Me
Hi! I’m Shaé Philyaw, a Washington, DC native and a full-time doctoral student in Counseling Psychology. I’ve dedicated my life to supporting the mental health of underserved and neurodivergent communities, especially Black youth and women. This fall, I’ll be relocating to Guam for a year-long clinical internship to provide psychological services in a region with limited access to culturally competent care. As a disabled veteran, first-gen graduate student, and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand firsthand how systems can create barriers. My journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been driven by purpose—and now, I’m asking for support so I can show up fully for others. The funds I raise will help cover relocation costs, secure housing, and transport my emotional support animals to Guam. Every contribution helps me get one step closer to fulfilling my mission: healing others while honoring my own story. Thank you for believing in my dream and helping me make an impact—one island, one story, one soul at a time.
