I grew up visiting my grandparents house in rural West New Mexico almost every year, sometimes twice. One of my favorite things about going was all the animals; horses, dogs, and tons of cats- and that's not including all the farm animals my grandparents had while my mom was growing up there. While my career focus is in journalism, I have always loved animals and taken any opportunity to be around them. This experience is a dream opportunity for me because not only will I be taking care of horses and other sweet farm life, I will be fulfilling my dream of learning Spanish. I took Spanish for 5 years throughout junior high and high school, and would love to eventually become fluent. Growing up in Texas surrounded by Hispanic friends and neighbors, I always wanted to learn to communicate with those around me. When I started taking Spanish, I fell in love with language learning and now seek to learn many other languages like Portuguese, German, and Italian!
