I'm a Manager and Climbing Instructor at an Indoor Climbing centre. I've been doing the job for about 6 years and really enjoy it. Prior to that I sat at a desk working on computers. I don't drive as my eyesight isn't good enough to allow me to, which means I have to rely a lot on the good will of others to get me out into the peaks. I also find walking on rough and uneven surfaces a challenge as I have nerve damage to my left ankle which means I struggle to balance, even with the splint I wear. I very rarely climb outdoors, but love it when I do. None of this stops me and I have run the London Marathon and enter the ballot each year to see if I can do it again. I have also completed a Half Ironman race and will sometime in the future enter and complete a full Ironman race.
