Hi, I'm Sofia's mom. Sofia has slowly been discovering that, oftentimes, experiences offer more long-term value than things. Travel has been a big part of that. She's also been learning the value of the dollar through pet-setting and other tasks. For her birthday this year, she asked for travel funds instead of gifts so that she could realize her dream of going to Japan. I wasn't sure how she would do without the instant satisfaction of a pile of gifts to open, but she did great. I think once she reaches her fundraising goal, and we're able to buy her ticket to Japan, she'll experience an incredible feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment.
