My journey started last year when I enrolled onto community courses to meet new people and learn something new, something for my C.v. I'd been a stay at home mum for years and needed to find myself again. I gained Agored certificates in Child Psychology, Managing Childrens Behaviour and Working with children with special needs and many more. I found a new love for learning and discovered confidence in the class room I never had before. I was offered the chance to sit an entrance exam into Cardiff Met 12 months later and started University as a mature student Sept 2016, it has been an incredible experience, every step of the way. For the past 12 months, I have juggled my home and children while studying Psychology,I missed out on the chance to recieve a study first award, a welsh gov fund, so have funded all materials and expenses from a student budget (while my peers do not). There's been days were my travel expenses alone have been £30. The opportunities that University has offered have already been life changing. I hope to continue growing and learning both professionally amd personally. I have been offered another life changing opportunity. The chance to study in Sri Lanka through a 4 week mental health placement is something that doesn't happen to people like me. It's just an incredible opportunity to grow and learn, to see and experience with my own eyes and come away with my mind opened in ways I can't imagine yet !!
