About Me

I'm Mia Moon, and I live in London UK. I am always interested in doing things to raise money for charity and to inspire other young people. In 2015 I won the prestigious Jack Petchey award for inspirational young people. Back in 2014 I did a big charity swim in the Olympic pool London. I managed to complete the swim and with support from celebrities and sports stars I raised £2500. My campaign went viral, and I was interviewed for several newspapers and for BBC TV. I repeated the swim in 2016, this time getting my younger siblings involved, and we raised £5000 for international famine relief. I have also helped raise over £2000 for young homeless kids in London by helping to organise a huge disco at my school each year. I also volunteer at a 'special needs' school for children with profound handicaps. In education I'm working hard. I am one of the few STEM Ambassador in my school (Science, Technology, Engineering , Maths). This year I won an award at a Hackathon for inventing a new app, and another award for inventing a science and engineering project. Oh, and I'm learning piano when I get time, and have passed my Grade 1 already. I have big dreams and even bigger ambitions, and hope to study Mandarin or Engineering at University when I leave high school.
