About Me
My name is Delva Douglas, and before anything else, I am a Jamaican woman who carries her island in her heart every single day. I was born and raised in Jamaica, and although I now live in the United States, my spirit has never left home. Everything I am was shaped by Jamaica’s strength, beauty, culture, and resilience. I am a licensed mental health therapist, wellness coach, and founder of MBS Restorative Centre and MBS Restorative Retreats. For over 30 years, my life’s work has been helping people heal — emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. I believe deeply in the power of compassion, community, and showing up for one another in times of need. When Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica, it didn’t just break homes — it broke hearts. It shook communities. It left families in darkness, literally and spiritually. Watching my island suffer like this has been one of the most painful experiences of my life. I cannot sit in comfort while my people struggle. I cannot watch from afar and pretend life is normal. I cannot ignore the cries of a place that raised me. This mission is personal. It is sacred. And it is coming from a place of pure love. I am traveling to China because it allows me to stretch every single donation, to buy more, to help more, to reach more people who lost everything. I want to put essential items — solar chargers, solar fans, diapers, sanitary items, clothing — directly into the hands of the mothers, fathers, children, and elders who are still trying to figure out how to begin again. And I want every donor to see what their support has done. To see the journey. To see the impact. To see the faces of the people whose lives they touch. I will share updates, videos, photos, receipts — because your trust matters, because transparency matters, and because your heart deserves to witness the change you create. Thank you for believing in this mission. Thank you for caring about Jamaica. Thank you for helping us bring light, hope, and dignity back to those who need it most. From the deepest part of my soul — thank you.
