Hi, I'm Olesia — a single mom of two wonderful kids, trying to rebuild our lives from scratch after a devastating breakup. After 22 years of marriage, my husband abandoned us — leaving me alone, without financial support, with two children to care for. We now live in a small rented apartment, and I try to survive by taking small jobs — but because my younger daughter has a disability and needs constant care, I can’t work full-time. My teenage son had to grow up fast, and I’m doing my best just to afford food and rent. Our family has been through so much emotional pain, especially my daughter, who adored her father. The divorce broke her heart. Her one dream — the dream she’s always held on to — is to visit Australia, to see animals she’s only read about, and to visit Taronga Zoo, where children can play with and even feed baby tigers. She turns 12 next week, and I want so much to give her a birthday she will never forget — a dream come true, a spark of happiness to lift her from the sadness she’s endured. But I simply can't afford this trip on my own. Flights from Poland to Sydney (with a stopover in Dubai) are expensive. We would need at least $7000 just for travel and a short stay.
