About Me

I am a 19-year-old student double-majoring in Film and Theatre at Arizona State University. I am from the Midwest, but I moved to Arizona for personal reasons and to experience the educational opportunities that ASU provides. I am extremely interested in activism of all kinds. As a freshman in college and major in political science, I volunteered to help fellow students to register to vote in the national election. I also participated in local protests and elections both as an audience member and as a supporting member. Since then, I have been active in my community to campaign for the things I am most passionate about; climate change reform and education reform. A big portion of my passion is dedicated to nature and, more specifically, birds. Penguins are my favorite birds, but I also love local birds. In Arizona, my favorite bird is the Inca Dove, but in my home state, my favorite bird is the American Robin. I am interested in studying abroad in Antarctica because it would give me the opportunity to see penguins in their natural habitat, but more importantly, it would give me the chance to research Antarctic life through first-hand encounters. As part of my study abroad, I am required to write a research paper about something I studied during my time on the world's coldest continent, and I am extremely excited to learn about and research Antarctic and then share my findings with the world. I'm a very passionate person, and when I have my heart set on something, I do not give up. I intend to visit Antarctica next winter, and I fully intend to spend my time there wisely so that I can write a successful research paper. I would appreciate your support for my Antarctic journey so that I can have adequate funding to get to the site and have a fun educational experience.
