Rev. Dr. Ona Afrae brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to community service in her role as the Spiritual Leader of Abundant Blessings East Bay. Rev. Ona is a licensed minister recognized by both Emerson and the Centers for Spiritual Living. As the Spiritual Leader of Abundant Blessings, her nonprofit organization, Rev. Ona focuses her efforts on addressing the pressing issue of homelessness by spearheading initiatives to feed the unhoused communities in Alameda County. Rev. Ona's dedication shines through her involvement in numerous ministries and roles, including Grief & Loss Ministry, The Beacon of Light Prison Ministry, Faith in Action, Young Adult Ministry, Pastoral Care, and as a dedicated Board Member to FACES of the East Bay. Rev. Ona's professional journey was marked by a steadfast commitment to social justice and community empowerment. She served as a Community Activist, a Re-Entry Specialist with Alameda College, a Crisis Counselor with Bay Area Women Against Rape, and a Director of Programs for Volunteers In Service To America and AmeriCorps in partnership with the National Corporation for Service. Rev. Ona's life is a testament to her belief in the transformative power of prayer and her unwavering dedication to serving the needs of the community. She stands as a beacon of hope and compassion, inspiring others to join her in creating positive change through faith and action. Over the past 10 years, Abundant Blessings (formerly known as The Hood Samaritans) has provided water, food, inspirational magazines, as well as environmental response supplies to the growing population of Homeless Individuals in Oakland California and the surrounding areas. This collaborative effort currently provides over 100,000 pounds of food & supplies annually to the Greater Oakland/ East Bay communities.
