About Me
A few years ago, I went on a trip to the East, at a time when I was very tied to work and routine. I was looking for a place to escape to, somewhere to heal from the fast-paced, stressful life I was living. During my trip, I arrived at a small island in Northern Thailand, where I met a local tour guide named Poom. Poom was a simple man, but wise and full of love for life. Every day he took us on magical hikes—through rainforests, secluded beaches, and visits to small, traditional villages. He wasn't just a guide, he was also a friend—someone who always listened and shared stories about life in Thailand, about the struggles and his dreams. It was clear that he did what he did out of genuine love for his country and culture. When we arrived at a remote village, Poom told us about the tough way he grew up. He came from a poor family and had to fight for everything in life. He not only saved himself from that tough situation, but he also managed to learn and share his knowledge with others. He was always there to help travelers, and I could see how his passion for his profession shone through in every small detail. At that moment, when I was with Poom in the village, I decided I wanted to help him. He wasn’t asking for money, but he did need donations to continue helping others and supporting his community. A small contribution from us could make a real difference—help him buy better equipment for his tours, offer additional workshops to travelers, or even improve working conditions in the village. So, I decided to donate. It wasn’t a large sum, but every bit helped. Poom wasn’t expecting it, but when he received the support, he gave me the biggest smile I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t just for him, it was for the whole community around him, and for everyone who encountered his unique story. Maybe my story won’t be exactly the one you’ll use, but I truly believe that such journeys can change lives—not only the lives of travelers, but also the lives of the people around them.
