We LOVE traveling, but we would much rather travel if it is for a purpose. That makes it worth it. We have chosen to volunteer our time with International Volunteer HQ starting April 28, 2024 for two weeks for sea turtle conservation efforts in Costa Rica. We also love the ocean. But not just because we enjoy visiting, swimming, and surfing in it. The ocean, including all the creatures that contribute to the marine ecosystem, keeps us alive and takes care of us- it’s what makes our earth inhabitable. The way we as humans have treated the ocean and all its creatures is completely shameful and heartbreaking. We have done a lot of research on the subject over the years, and the more we learn the sadder it gets. We can’t prevent everything about our carbon footprint, generating garbage, consumption of water, etc. but we can at least try to make a difference. The way we see it, we cannot be upset about it if we don’t try to do something about it, and we have long desired to do something more hands-on. We hope this to be the first of many similar trips.
