I am the youngest of 10 , (6 brothers & 3 sisters) from the best parents anyone could ever have. In 1969, U.S. President Nixon came to Romania to visit with our then dictator Pres. Ceausescu ( who ruled with an iron fist) , to discuss trade. The meeting went well , it was the first time an American President visited a eastern block country. Somehow my father got a letter with a picture of his wife and 10 children, and demanding that we be granted asylum in America for the freedom of worship. As a political gesture,we were allowed to leave all together at once legally, something that never happened in a communist country. I have never been back to see my beautiful country since leaving at age 1, and would truly love to go. Unfortunately, I just don't have the means to get there.
