Hello! My name is Samara Duerr and I am a student at Emory University. I am currently 20 years old and a Sophomore. I am double majoring in International Studies and Chinese! I've always had a passion for learning about foreign languages and cultures and thus also sincerely enjoy traveling and meeting new people. Because of this love, I have studies Chinese for 7 years, French for 3 years, and have dabbled in Spanish and Arabic. Previously, I have graciously been awarded scholarships to study abroad in both China and France on intensive language and culture immersion programs (NSLI-Y and CIEE). These experiences have shaped me to be the person I am today—more independent, adaptable, and open-minded. I hope to continue my love and passions by experiencing even more cultures that will allow me to gain a more cosmopolitan perspective and appreciation for a diversity of different people.
