About Me

Hello, friends! A little about me: my name is Sara, a high school student at The Abelard School in Toronto, Canada. I'm apart of the Pathways to Education program at which I am a peer tutor, the main focus of our program is to ensure that underprivileged high school students graduate and successfully move onto post-secondary. This program is tremendously important to me as it actually made a difference in my life, in turn I've decided to continue with the program only this time I hopefully get to be the one that makes the difference in another student's life. I also kickstarted a program called Knitting in Motion, the program brings together youth and elderly folks from my community where we share a common goal, and that is to knit clothing for women's homeless shelters in Toronto. I'm also apart of L.O.V.E (Leave Out Violence), a media arts program which specializes in creating art showcases, paintings, basically any form of art that emulates positive expression rather than violence or aggression. This basically sums up 85% of my social life and I hope to be able to use the tools and skills that I've learned from all of these programs in my future travels and extend the difference I can make, as it starts in your backyard and sprouts from there!
